The Enneagram for Diaspora Spirituality
Diaspora Spirituality is devoted to individual and community transformation through creative connection to the Holy Spirit. The Enneagram is a powerful, complementary approach for the expression of faith common in the lives of people of color, and associated places of worship.
Join Reverend Dr. Shelley as we explore:
- How the Enneagram opens us up for greater intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
- The spiritual lessons of each type through the lens of Diaspora Spirituality.
- Ways each type can find their purpose and Divine path.
International speaker, yogini, and urban soulpreneur, the Rev. Dr. Shelley Best is the senior pastor at Redeemer's A.M.E. Zion Church in Plainville, CT. She is also the president and CEO of The Conferences of Churches, which under her leadership has purchased and transformed a once vacant taxi garage in Hartford into “The 224 EcoSpace,”a 30,000 square foot, creative social enterprise platform for artists, activists, healers and entrepreneurs.
Dr. Best is a sought after retreat leader who uses yoga, guided meditation, sound healing, sacred listening and the Enneagram in her transformational leadership practice. Her extensive travels to Israel, Palestine, South Africa and India have informed her efforts as an interfaith ambassador and visual artist whose work is inspired by Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. Dr. Best, who holds a Doctorate of Ministry from Hartford Seminary and a Master's of Divinity from Yale, chronicles her urban community transformation mission in her soon-to-be published book SoulPrenuers and Womanish Ways of Working by The Feminist Studies in Religion Press.
